The Day A Crystal Found It's Frame

My Love Affair With Sparkle

I have always been drawn to things that catch light.

Crystals. Glitter. The way sunlight hits water. There's something about sparkle that feels like joy made visible. It's playful. It's alive. It makes ordinary moments feel a little bit magic.

When I started creating eyewear, I knew sparkle had to be part of it. Not because I wanted to be noticed, but because wearing something beautiful delights me.

It's personal. It's for me.

Quiet Beginnings, Years in the Making

Let me take you back to 2019, when Blingaratti was nothing more than a spark of an idea and a handful of crystals spread across my kitchen table.

This is the story of how it all began, and what sparked my obsession with turning eyewear into wearable art.

One morning, I was getting ready and caught myself in the mirror. Earrings on. Necklace clasped. Rings in place. Outfit curated. And then I reached for my glasses (plain, practical, forgettable) and slid them onto my face.

And it hit me.

I had spent years acquiring accessories of all kinds: necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings. But the one place that matters most? My eyes. I had completely ignored them.

Think about it. If you’re one of the masses who need reading or prescription eyeglasses, the time that you’ll spend wearing them is a significant part of your day.

Your eyeglasses almost become a part of you.

They frame your eyes, which are (let's be honest) where the magic happens.

They say the eyes are the window to the soul. Research in neuroscience and psychology confirms what we’ve intuitively known for centuries: when we look at a face, our gaze naturally moves to the eyes before any other feature. Long before a word is spoken, the eyes are already communicating.

Before anyone hears your voice, they meet your eyes.

Why had I never thought of this before? We frame artwork. We frame photographs. We frame the things we treasure. But we put the most boring, uninspired frames on our own faces and call it good enough. Why would we settle for boring?

That realization sparked something in me. Not frustration but excitement. What if glasses weren't just functional? What if they were art?

A Simple Question Ignited My Path

So, with that quick question, I made a plan and purchased the necessary tools and materials.

My husband watched me with amusement, observing my latest hobby and wondering how long my fascination with this one would last. He will tell you I have many interests, and my attention on any current project usually lasts a few months at most.

This one, however, would prove to be THE one. The one that still enthralls me to this day.

My crafting sessions started with good music playing, a glass of wine nearby, and all my supplies at arm’s reach. With no limits on time or imagination, I began putting together colors and textures that pleased me.

It only took a couple of sessions to realize that this was indeed for me... and that I had a gift

Friends noticed. Family asked for their own. Before I knew it, I was crafting custom pieces for women who wanted something no one else had.

Blingaratti began humbly, born from a desire to create something unique. What started as custom pieces for myself, friends, and family grew into quiet commissions: frames crafted one by one, each telling its own story.

For years, I've been perfecting my craft in the background, creating commissioned pieces and letting each design evolve naturally.

I design for women who appreciate craftsmanship, who notice details, and who understand that the things we wear every day should bring us happiness, not just function.

When you wear something handcrafted in small batches, you feel the difference. It's about connection. Knowing that a real person designed this, touched this, made decisions about every crystal and where it should go.

It's not mass-produced. It's not everywhere. It's yours.

My team is small. Every frame passes through my hands before it ships. That's the kind of artistry I believe in.

Slow. Careful. Limited in quantity, unlimited in design possibilities.

When you wear Blingaratti, you're not just wearing glasses. You're wearing the result of someone who loves what she creates and who hopes you'll love it too.

Your face deserves artistry. Your reflection deserves to make you smile. Your everyday deserves a little sparkle.

That's what Blingaratti is about.

Not making a statement for others, but making one for yourself.

Choosing beauty because it brings you happiness.

If you love beautiful things, if you believe details matter, if you've ever wished your eyewear was as fun and artful as the rest of your style...
